- Notice of intent to negotiate on a sole source basis with Systems Engineering Group (SEG), Inc., Columbia, MD in support of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) and Theater Air Missile Defense (TAMD) Systems. The requirement is classified, the required tasks will focus on continued threat engineering of U.S systems and foreign threat intelligence research, and advanced sensor and weapon system design/development support. The tasking includes the continuing development, test, and evaluation of analytical tools, computer models, and hardware enhancements. The requirement is a sole source action to be awarded as a new contract to SEG, Inc. A Cost Plus Award Fee type contract is anticipated. Period of performance will be for one year with four one-year option renewals. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be available 23 January 2006 on the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) web link www.neco.gov. Anticipated award date 2 March 2006. Justification and authority is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). SEG possess the required expertise, knowledge and skill to perform the entire effort ensuring continuous support efficiency and effectively in fulfilling the ballistic missile defense research and design requirement of the Aegis BMDS program and the Missile Defense Agency.
