Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAVAIRWARCENWPNSDIV) intends to increase the level-of-effort from: 2,282,276 by: 1,020,000 to: 3,302,276 and total estimated cost plus fixed fee from: $510,726,350 by: $171,000,000 to: $681,726,350 on an other than full and open competition basis in support of software and firmware technical support for the F/A-18 aircraft weapons system. This procurement is a sole source to McDonnell Douglas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 63166. The Boeing Company, the prime F/A-18 aircraft manufacturer, is the only qualified source to perform this effort within the time required to meet fleet needs. As the sole designer, developer, integrator, manufacturer, and supplier of the F/A-18 aircraft, Boeing is the only firm that possesses the requisite knowledge of the aircraft and weapon system. The increased effort is to procure technical support for the development and integration of System Configuration Sets (SCSs) for the F/A-18 weapons system include the C/D Aircraft Configuration, E/F/G Aircraft Configuration, and support of Fleet Released SCSs, Acquisition Product Development and Studies and Analysis. The contract terms remains unchanged at 24 September 2002 through 23 September 2007. Any firm believing that they can provide the required services, may submit a written response, which shall be considered, clearly showing their ability to perform the work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability, and delivery of the product to the fleet. Responses shall be submitted within 5 days after the date of publication of this notice to Debra Hartley at the address noted above. See Note 22 and 26.
