- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data and Information Service, National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) proposes to negotiate on a sole source basis with Earth Data Network for Education and Scientific Exchange (EDNES) for development, enhancement and international data in support of the Comprehensive Large Array Stewardship System (CLASS). This is an international project with EDNES working with the World Data Center (WDC) and Institute for Physics of the Earth, Moscow for Solar Terrestrial Physics. EDNES is a major developer of data exchange systems used by NGDC and the WDCs and this project enhances that integration by extending it to include additional NOAA systems. Development on this project will include: 1) Integration of existing systems; 2) Provision and integration data; 3) The extension of the SABR system to include CLASS interfaces; 5) Management of the international development teams. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13.1, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures (under $100,000). EDNES is upgrading and extending its own existing product and because of the particular data required, this notice is for information purposes only. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. Information submitted in response to this notice will be used solely to determine whether or not use of competitive procedures to fulfill this requirement would be in the Government?s best interest and must address qualifications pertinent to this requirement. Any responses must be received in writing (e-mail preferred) no later than February 1, 2006 to the attention of Kelly Rima, Purchasing Agent. The anticipated award date is February 2, 2006.
