Description

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, on behalf of the Joint Program Executive Office for Joint Tactical Radio System and the Joint Waveform Program Office (JWPO) intends to award a sole source contract, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1, to ITT Aerospace/Communications Division, 1919 West Cook Road, Fort Wayne IN 46801 to complete the development of the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW). SRW is a Software Communications Architecture (SCA) compliant software defined waveform to operate primarily in small form factor, battery-operated JTRS radios, which is to provide a mobile ad-hoc networking capability for land combat operations. This waveform will support voice, video, and data communications in the immediate area of operations and will be able to interface with the Wideband Networking Waveform (WNW) for long-haul operations. The first operational spiral build of SRW will be based on Increments 1.0 - 2.1 completed under the CERDEC Other Transaction Agreement with ITT, a follow-on to the DARPA developed Soldier Level Integrated Communication Environment (SLICE), which has been field tested and demonstrated. The Government intends to issue a request for proposal to ITT.
