- Description
- The work involves removing the existing fire alarm system and replacing a new addressable style fire alarm system. All existing peripheral equipment and devices shall be replaced with new devices for the new fire alarm system. The new system will be connected with a class "A" wiring in accordance with the National Fire Alarm Code, NFPA 72,2002. The existing raceways and wiring shall be re-used where possible. Building #5, #6, and #9 existing fire alarms contains the following devices which need to be replaced with new devices: Control/annunciator panel, 5 fire alarm manual pull stations, 5 audible/visuals, 42 smoke detectors,7 heat detectors and rechargeable backup battery. Provide new additional devices in accordance with NFPA 72,2002 and ADA requirements. Building #8 existing fire alarm contains the following devices which need to be replaced with new devices: 1 Control/annunciator, 2 manual pull stations, 2 audible/visuals, 4 smoke detectors, 4 heat detectors and rechargeable backup battery.
