- Description
- Market research and invetigation is being conducted by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia to seek manufacturing sources for the Summer Flyers Gloves - Green, Tan or Black. The SFG is to be made in accordance with specification MIL-G-81188C. The specification is available through the Assist Website http://assist.daps.dla.mil/online/start/. You can access the document through a quick search by filling in "81188" under the "Document Number". For interim changes to the specification please contact either Marianne Campbell (215-737-3089)or Kevin Peoples (215-737-5657). Estimated annual requirements for the summer flyers gloves is approximately 780,000 prs. Existing contracts are in place with available options through Hawkeye Glove, SP0100-03-D-4154 and Hercules Glove, SP0100-03-D-4155 with a combined maximum of 367,200 prs. All available contractors able to produce these items or commercial items providing similar protection are requested to contact Marianne Campbell or Kevin Peoples to arrange for a courtesy evaluation of their product or to obtain any additional information required to assess their capability in providing these items. Manufacturers are requested to submit the following information to the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia: 1) Identify all places of performance including the end item, subcomponent assembly and all component materials for either item or the similar commercial item; 2) the total monthly and yearly maximum capacity of this item for the manufacturing facility; 3) the minimum and/or desired monthly and yearly quantities you would like to produce of this item; and, 4) the production leadtime needed before production could begin. All information should be submitted to this office no later than 23 January 2006.
