- Description
- The Department of State intends to negotiate a sole source contract with American Systems Corporation located at 13990 Parkeast Circle, Chantilly, VA 20151-2272 for installation services of classified and unclassified cable and conduit. The base period of the contract will be six months with a six-month option period. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. This action is being taken to provide for continuity of services upon the expiration of contract S-LMAQM-00-C-0076 and will allow for the negotiation and award of the follow-on contract. Use of another contractor during this period would result in the disruption of services and would necessitate costly start-up and transition costs to be repeated on award of the follow-on contract. The contractor must provide BICSI Certified Technicians and a BICSI Registered Communications Designer (RCDD) on staff to support all project requirements. Foreign travel may be required and employees expected to travel will require a Top Secret security clearance prior to departure. In addition, the contractor shall possess a Top Secret facility clearance and all personnel performing under the contract shall have a Top Secret-SCI or Secret clearance as designated by the Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR). This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and must provide evidence of their capability to respond to the requirement by January 19, 2006. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
