Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI). HQ AMC/A34YAS is preparing to acquire jet air transportation to move passengers and cargo via contractor-furnished, IFR -equipped, multi-engine aircraft. The aircraft must be capable of transporting at least 30 passengers/baggage and/or at least three (3), 88 inch by 108 inch 463L cargo pallets totaling 25,000 pounds from Elmendorf AFB AK to King Salmon AFS AK to Eareckson AFS AK and back to Elmendorf AFB. The missions will be flown about twice a week for an estimated 308,256 miles for a 12-month period. Based upon the results of this RFI, the anticipated period of performance will be 1 Oct 2006 through 30 Sep 2007 with one 12-month option period. We are required to conduct market research as part of acquisition planning. Please fax to 618/256-2804 or email to dick.santanello@scott.af.mil. 1) TYPE OF AIRCRAFT WITH NUMBER OF PASSENGER SEATS AND CARGO CAPABILITY FOR THIS REQUIREMENT 2) HAVE YOU FLOWN THE AIRCRAFT TO BE OFFERED FOR TWELVE CONTINUOUS MONTHS OF COMPARABLE SERVICE OR WILL YOU HAVE DONE SO BY TIME OF AWARD OF A CONTRACT 3) ESTIMATED TOTAL PRICE RANGE FOR THE BASE YEAR. 4) ARE YOU A DOD APPROVED AIR CARRIER 5) WHAT IS THE NORMAL LENGTH OF CONTRACT IN YOUR INDUSTRY 6) HOW IS YOUR SERVICE USUALLY PRICED, AND WILL PER MILE BE ACCEPTABLE 7) IF REIMBURSABLES ARE STANDARD PRACTICE, WHAT ITEMS ARE GENERALLY PAID 8) BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR SECURITY POLICY. 9) WHAT INSPECTION METHODS ARE USED TO INSURE SATISFACTORY PERFORMANCE 10) HOW MUCH ADVANCE NOTICE DO YOU REQUIRE ORIOR TO SCHEDULING A FLIGHT 11) WHAT ARE YOUR CANCELLATION POLICIES/CHARGES WHEN THE USER CANCELS 12) WHAT IS YOUR LIABILITY FOR YOUR LOSS AND/OR DAMAGE TO PASSENGER BAGGAGE AND/OR PERSONAL EQUIPMENT 13) WHAT LENGTH OF CONTRACT IS COMMON TO THIS INDUSTRY 14) WHAT PROBLEMS ARE YOU CURRENTLY ENCOUNTERING WITHIN THE INDUSTRY 15) WHAT IS THE STANDARD COMMERCIAL PRACTICE IF THE CONTRACTOR IS LATE FOR A MISSION OR FAILS TO PERFORM? 16) WHAT ARE THE CUSTOMARY TYPES AND AMOUNTS OF INSURANCE IN THE COMMERCIAL MARKET This agency has not made a final commitment to procure the stated requirement and this RFI should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such procurement. This agency is interested in obtaining responses to this RFI from prospective contractors but no contractor shall be reimbursed for providing this information; therefore, the Air Force will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All information provided by the contractor will become property of the Air Force and will not be returned. Responses are requested by 16 Jan 06 and should include a point of contact, phone number, fax number, and email address.
