- The Naval Sea Systems Command, Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division, on behalf of the Defense Advance Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Information Technology Office (IPTO) for Scientific, Engineering, Technical and Assistance (SETA) support, plans to award a sole source modification under existing contract N00174-02-D-0002 to continue support of the DARPA/IPTO office until the following Seaport-enhanced task order is awarded. Indian Head has solicited on November 9, 2005 and received proposals on December 9, 2005 under the Naval Sea Systems Command Seaport-enhanced multi-award contract, solicitation N00024-06-R-3057. The anticipated modification to the current contract will increase the ceiling by $1,700,000 and extend the period of performance through the end of March 2006 allowing sufficient time to award the Seaport-enhanced task order and transition the work to this new order. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement
