- Description
- USACE, Vicksburg District, proposes to issue an award for the lease of one diesel work boat with operating personnel. Subject boat shall be certified by the U. S. Coast Guard as a Vessel Carrying Passengers for Hire. The boat shall be certified to c arry 15 passengers. The boat will principally be used on the Mississippi River between Helena, Arkansas, (Mile 660 AHP) and Southwest Pass (Mile 0 AHP) in connection with the tending of work units. This work will include hauling personnel, moving pontoon lines, towing an anchor barge in connection with the moving of anchors, shifting various barges including fuel barges, occasionally towing barges to and from work and remote locations, setting and moving buoys in the vicinity of the work unit, and sounding depths in the vicinity of work unit operations. The boat may also be used for channel patrol, light towing and contract work on the above designated section of the Mississippi River, and for towing, snagging, and tending work units on the Yazoo River from the mouth of the Yazoo Diversion Canal to Greenwood, Mississippi, and on the Old, Red, Black, and Ouachita Rivers from the Mississippi River to Camden, Arkansas, and on the White and Arkansas Rivers from the mouth of the White to Little Rock, Arkansas, as may be designated by the Contracting Officer. The contract period shall be 365 calendar days from date of contract award. The number of days the boat will be used during the contract period is not guaranteed. However, it is expected that the boat will be used approximately 210 calendar days. It is estimated that the boat will generally be reserved by the Government to use the boat more or less than 210 calendar days and 7 days per week and 24 hours per day, as the exigencies of the work may require. Offerors should check the VCCO Web Page often for new solicitations and/or changes ( AMENDMENTS) to existing ones. Issue date on or about 13 Jan 2006. Offer due date on or about 13 Feb 2006, 1645 Hours. THIS PROCUREMENT IS 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE AND ISSUED UNDER NAICS CODE 532411 FOR A FIRM FIXED PRICE CONTRACT WITH A BASE AND FOUR OPTION YEARS.
