- This notice of intent is from the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) to contract with IPG Photonics Corporation at 50 Old Webster Road, Oxford, MA 01540 on an other than full and open competitive basis. The contractor shall provide a Model YLR-100, 1000 Watt single mode Ytterbium fiber laser with the following minimum specifications. Red aiming diode with Optoskand connector, Optoskand air cooled comm.. FL collimator 25mm diameter, continuous wave operation with oput power of 1000W, central wavelength 1075 +/- 5 nm, line width <5nm, beam quality M-squared <1.2, single mode output, output power tenability 10% - 105%, long term output power stability +/- 3%, maximum modulation speed 10kHz and 240 VAC power. Through market research, NRL has concluded that IPG Photonics is the only company that offers a commercial continuous wave single mode fiber laser at the power level, wavelength, beam quality, and output collimator that meet NRL?s minimum requirements. The required delivery is no later than 14 weeks after date of contract award. This is not a solicitation. See numbered Note 22.
