Description
The US Army RDECOM Acquisition Center  Natick Contracting Division, in support of the U.S. Armys Rapid Fielding Initiative, has a requirement for Combat Gloves (Army), in matched pairs, slip-on style, in-seamed, and made from a combination of leath er and inherently flame resistant textile materials intended to be worn by Army personnel. Combat gloves will provide maximum dexterity, tactility, flexibility, and flame cut protection. The basic cloth shall be knitted material in Foliage Green 504 cons isting of a yarn blend of Para-Aramid (Kevlar) and conductive, anti-stat fiber (P-140). The leather shall be hair sheepskin or goat and kidskins in black. Certificates of Conformance (COC) will be required for specified materials. Manufacturers will sub mit eighteen (18) samples in a range of sizes for testing purposes. All gloves must meet AATCC, ASTM D, and NFPA standards. Combat gloves must meet a minimum service life of 120 days when tested with industry standards. The purchase description is avail able at www3.natick.army mil. The government anticipates making multiple awards, but reserves the right to make one or no awards. This will be a partial small business set-aside at 50%. The NAICS code for these items is 315992, and the business size standa rd is 500 employees. This is not a request for proposals (RFP). The Government will make multiple awards on a Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract as a result of the Request for Proposals (RFP). The Government ant icipates a five year ordering period. The anticipated total minimum requirement is 120,000 gloves with a maximum total requirement of 500,000 pairs of gloves. The Government anticipates releasing the RFP on or about 6 January 2006.
