- The Naval Air Depot is seeking proposals for design, manufacture, delivery, and installation of a vertical Jig Boring Machine. The machine will be utilized for rework and manufacturing of military aircraft components. The Vertical Jig Boring Machine as a minimum shall consist of the following features: (1) Base machine complete with standard equipment with machining range of at least 35" W x 23"L x 25"H; (2) Working surface of at least 40?x34?; (3) Spindle powered by DC motor with a range of 30 to 3000 rpm. Spindle power: 100%ED 5kW-6.8 h.p. preferred; (4) Quill diameter shall be at least 4-5/16?; (5) Spindle taper shall be ISO 40; (6) Power feed rates shall be in range of .0004 to .0153 in./rev.; (7) Automatic drilling and boring cycles; (8) Shall be manually controlled with a DRO (digital readout) installed; and (9) Machine cabinet shall be fitted with an A/C unit for cooling of electrical components. The solicitation will be posted electronically at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about 29 December 2005 with proposals due approximately 30 January 2006. A PreProposal Conference and Site Visit relating to this procurement is scheduled to begin on 17 January 2006 at 10:00 A.M. The NAICS Code is 333512 with a corresponding size standard of 500 employees.
