Description
This synopsis, and applicable amendments, is posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce On-Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. Hard copies will not be provided. Vendors should regularly access the specified websites to ensure they have downloaded any and all amendments. In accord with FAR 6.302-1, the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to solicit OPSENS INC located at 2014 Rue Jean-Talon N Bureau 125, Quebec CA G1N 4N6, on a sole source basis, for quantity 50 of Part No. OTP-MET: Metricor compatible fiber-optic temperature sensor with temperature range from 0-120C, response time of less than 1 ms, 100 micron, ST connector, 1.5 m of Teflon cable with sliding sleeve. Delivery is required within four weeks. The requirement is sole source because the product is the only replacement part found to be compatible with the Metricor 1420 Fiberoptic EMC Test System. The Metricor System is in the process of phase-out: A replacement data collection hardware system has been defined but it does not yet provide full function replacement of the Metricor system therefore the Metricor System remains Mission Critical. The Government will consider offers, from all responsible sources, which evidence ability to provide a hardware item that has the features, benefits, quality, and reliability of the specified commercial item and that does not exceed the price of the specified item nor result in schedule slippage. Offers that do not provide such evidence will not be considered. Offers must be submitted via email DLGR_NSWC_XDS13@navy.mil by the 19 December 2005.! Fax number 540-653-6810 Attn: XDS136. Award will be subject to Simpl ified Acquisition Procedures, in accordance with FAR 13, and procedures for acquisition of commercial items, in accordance with FAR Part 12. Successful offeror will complete and submit representations and certifications at FAR 52.222-22 and 52.222-25 and shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database. Estimated award date is 23 December 2005.
