Description

This sources sought notice is issued for information and planning purposes only. The Government is soliciting information to determine the availability of capable contractors that can perform the following requirement. The Army Contacting Activity (A CA) at Fort Carson, Colorado plans to issue a solicitation and subsequent contract for parts washer rental, service, and maintenance. Parts Washers required by Fort Carson are as follows: 1) 2 small, bench top parts washer that can be placed a countertop or roll-around cart. The solvent in the reservoir below the parts washing sink must pass through a filter and then a 'flow-through' sty le brush so that all parts may be manually cleaned using the brush. The solvent drains in the sink, back to the reservoir. 2) 70 sink-on-a-drum parts washer with a 17-gallon solvent capacity featuring a fusible link cover, flexible metal spigot and lamp 3) 8 large, vat-style parts washer featuring a fusible link safety lid, flexible metal spigot and lamp. 4) 2 agitating parts washer for large parts with an air-operated platform that lowers for soaking and agitating the soiled parts to enhance cleaning. The agitation speed must be is adjustable by the operator depending on the automated cleaning speed required. This equipment also shall have a pump and flow-through brush for manual cleaning on the internal tray. All Parts washers provided shall be serviced and maintained by the contractor. Services shall include the removal and replacement of parts washer solvent on a routine basis with all used solvent managed under a continuous use program. Solvent type: Minim um requirement: Mineral Spirits, 148 degrees minimum, Flash Point TCLP Non-hazardous. Contractor shall be capable of managing used solvents as a non-hazardous waste. Maintenance shall include the inspection, cleaning and repair or replacement of all uns afe, damaged or inoperable machines or components. The following minimum qualifications must be met: 1) Contractor and their facility must meet all Federal, State and Local laws concerning the handling parts washer solvent. 2) Manage used solvents as a non-hazardous material under a continuous use program . 3) Possess all Federal, State and Local transportation licenses and endorsements. 4)Have minimum of six months experience managing hazardous materials in a permitted facility. 5) Be ISO 14001 certified. No final commitment has been made to procure the stated requirement and this sources sought notice should not be construed as a commitment or authorization to incur costs in anticipation of such procurement. The ACA-Fort Carson is interested in obtaining r esponses to this Sources Sought Notice from prospective contractors, but no contractor shall be reimbursed for providing this information; therefore, ACA-Fort Carson will accept the requested information in whatever format it is provided. All information p rovided will become property of the U. S. Army and will not be returned.
