Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Eastern Regional Research Center, Dairy Processing and Products Group, intends to negotiate solely with TA Instruments ? Waters LLC in Newcastle, DE, to purchase a Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer with a Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter. These instruments will be used to determine the structural changes induced in extruder texturized products that function as meat analogs. This equipment consists of one of each: Part No. 985000.901-Q800 Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer, (includes operating and data analysis); Part No. 970700.907-Q100 Modulated Differential Scanning Calorimeter w/mass flow control which includes thermal advantage software; Part No. 991400.902-Gas Cooling Accessory with auto-fill capability for the Q800; Part No. 970008.901-Refrigerated Cooling System; Part No.984018.901-Parallel Plate Compression Kit for Q800 DMA; Part No. 984016.901-Film and Fiber Tension Kit for Q800 DMA; Part No. 900680.902-DSC Sample Press; Part No 200266.001-RCS Gas Dryer; Part No. 924500.602-Kit Ethernet Switch; 924999.901-Installation & Training; Patent Nos. 5,224,775, 5,346,306, 5,335,993, 6,561,692, 6,431,747, 6,488,406, 6,523,998, 6,648,504, 5,710,426, 5,915,283, 5,973,299, to be furnished and delivered (F.O.B. Destination within Consignee=s Premises) to the USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center located in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania. The NAICS is 334516. These instruments will also be used in developing bio-based polymers from agricultural byproducts. Companies with the demonstrated capability of providing this equipment must submit a descriptive statement, including descriptive literature, specifically addressing the equipment=s component=s and availability. The statement and literature must be submitted to the Contracting Office Address within 10 days of publication of this notice. This is not a request for proposal. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
