- MODIFICATION TO A PREVIOUS NOTICE: Correction: CLIN 0004 should read Quantity of 4 instead of Quantity: 2. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division intends to negotiate on a sole source with The MathWorks, Inc., under the authority of FAR Subsection 13.106-1(b). This procurement is for the software maintenance support to the NIST existing MATLAB Maintenance. The MATLAB scientific software is proprietary to The MathWorks and solely distributed by The MathWorks, Inc. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) (see http://www.Census.gov/epcd/www/naics.html) code for this solicitation is 511210. The Government is unaware of any other source that can provide the required MATLAB software maintenance. Award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. NIST intends to issue a Firm-Fixed-Price purchase order The MathWorks, Inc., for this maintenance renewal unless other sources are identified before response date to this posting. The period of performance shall be for one (1) year starting January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2006.
