- Description
- The Naval Sea Systems Command has a requirement for DD(X) transition design efforts including efforts such as obtaining vendor furnished information for key equipment, completing system diagrams to ease entry into computer aided design tools, completing the ship’s structural configuration and populating design library data in computer aided design tools. This requirement will be solicited from Bath Iron Works, 700 Washington St, Bath, ME 04530. The total DD(X) transition design effort will be procured, without full and open competition, from the only two qualified sources capable of completing the Flight 1 Class design and building a lead ship. A similar solicitation for the other share of the DD(X) transition design effort is being issued to the only other source with the capability to meet these DD(X) requirements, Northrop Grumman Ship Systems, 1000 Access Road, Pascagoula, MS 39568. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) ! page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for the posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable.
