- The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is providing construction acquisition services to the National Park Service (NPS) in support of their Elwha River Restoration program. Construction projects that Reclamation plans to award contracts for include: the removal of two concrete dams on the Elwha River; the construction of a river diversion; construction of two water treatment plants; and other construction projects related to the mitigation measures for the removal of the two dams. The intent of this notice is to announce the availability of 'Elwha River Restoration Market Research Questionnaire 1' to interested potential offerors. Reclamation is conducting market research to determine the level of interest in the construction industry in various potential construction contract business arrangements for the planned construction projects. Interested prime contractors and subcontractors are invited to complete the Questionnaire. Participation is voluntary and respondents will not be compensated for their participation. The identity of respondents will not be revealed outside the Contracting Officer's staff. A contract will not result directly from this market research and there may be future market research or acquisition planning announcements made regarding the Elwha River Restoration. Background information on the Elwha River Restoration, the planned construction activities, instructions for completing the Questionnaire, and the Questionnaire itself will be available on or about December 6, 2005 in Adobe Acrobat PDF at http://www.usbr.gov/pn/contracts/construction/index.html. Completed Questionnaires will be accepted for a 45-day period beginning on the date the questionnaire is posted to the website. All responses must be accompanied by a completed Questionnaire. Any responses not accompanied by a completed Questionnaire will not be considered. The intent of Questionnaire No. 1 is to seek input on certain potential contracting arrangements for the Elwha River Restoration and to determine the level of interest among small businesses. It is not a request for unsolicited information or product literature on: construction or building materials; construction management services; construction equipment; or, water treatment processes. Any questions regarding this announcement should be sent to the ELWHA_Market_Research@pn.usbr.gov email address or mailed to the Contracting Officer's attention. Phone calls will not be accepted.
