- Description
- The Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) provides executive management of Army and joint service Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC) defense research, and engineering programs for NBC defense systems, and serves as the single exe cutive agent throughout each program's life cycle. RDECOM is headquartered at the Edgewood Area of Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. RDECOM is in search of contract support to obtain environmental, safety, health, and research support for operations at RDECOM activities. Environmental support shall be in the form of sample analysis using Government instrumentation in fixed and mobile l aboratories. Safety and health support shall be in the form of site inspections at workplaces using chemical agents and other hazardous materials. Research support shall be in the form of scientific research into the environmental fate and effects of che mical agents. Specifically, support is required in the following areas: scientific research; engineering design; fabrication services; process development; testing (environmental sampling and analysis); measuring and test equipment (calibration and maintenance of chemi cal instrumentation); plans and systems analysis; safety-surety-health and security planning; audits and inspections; environmental activities (waste/materiel disposal and handling); meetings, conferences, demonstrations and symposia; support for chemical services and operations; and environmental planning and operations.
