Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico, Virginia seeks sources and information for DC-AC power inverters. A lesson learned from recent military operations and an objective of the USMC is to field more DC-AC power inverters for on-vehicle applications. The main focus for this equipment is for use with the High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). The inverter must have the following specifications: Electrical input: Nominal 20 to 32 VDC Note: All systems shall interface to the vehicles DC system thru the NATO slave receptacle. Electrical output: 1500 watt (threshold), 3000 watt (objective). 120 VAC, 60Hz, single phase, and true sine wave output is required, with circuit breaker protection of receptacles and input. Storage Temperature: -60?F to 160?F Operating Temperature: -20?F to 131?F The system shall be rugged and survivable in harsh USMC environments (cold, heat, dust, vibration, shock, and moisture), as defined in MIL-STD 810 and MIL-PRF-28800. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) may be an appropriate method for these supplies and services (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 8.0 and 8.4). Commercial firms possessing the characteristics noted in the above system are encouraged and invited to submit the following: Product brochures and pricing materials outlining specifications, to include a statement of capabilities. Current GSA contact information regarding unit pricing and discounts. Operations and maintenance/parts manual for the unit (manuals will be returned after review at request of the company). Independent or in-house test data. Accessories needed for equipment operation, and whether or not the accessories are included with the unit or sold separately. Responses will be reviewed to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. This sources-sought/Request For Information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisition. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI, or otherwise pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect cost or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. Responses to this RFI shall be mailed to Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Gabrielle Trickett-GTES-EPS, 2200 Lester Ave, Quantico, VA 22134-6050 no later than 18 Jan 2006. FEDEX or UPS deliveries should be sent to MARCORSYSCOM Material Management, Attn: Gabrielle Trickett-GTES-EPS, 2201A Willis St, Quantico, VA 22134-6050.
