Description
THIS ACTION IS BEING CONSIDERED FOR A TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. Prime Contractors who are either HUBZone small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, or service-disabled/veteran-owned small businesses intending to submit a bid for this solicitation MUST submit the following by e-mail to CFLcontracts@fhwa.dot.gov or by telefax to 720-963-3360 for receipt by close of business (4:30 p.m. local Denver time) on December 2, 2005: (1) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a Prime Contractor; (2) a copy of the letter from SBA stating date of HUBZone small business certification (must be obtained prior to date of this synopsis) and/or positive proof of small disadvantaged business status; (3) letter from bonding agent stating bonding capability, to include single and aggregate totals; and (4) listing of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact including phone numbers. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on availability of interested small disadvantaged business concerns. Failure to submit all information requested will result in a contractor being considered not interested in this solicitation. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a Total small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will be made following the due date and notification posted on the FBO website. PROJECT DETAILS: This project consists of pulverizing pavement and placing Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement, Minor Grading and Drainage on 9.164 miles of roadway for the UT PRA GLCA 7(1), Halls Crossing Road, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, in San Juan County, Utah. The estimated price range is between $1,000,000.00 and $3,000,000.00. Principal work items include: lump sum contractor testing; 1,250 cuyd shouldering and minor embankment; 800 cuyd placed riprap, class 2; 151,000 sqyd road reconditioning; 1,500 tons asphalt cement grade PG 64-28; 24,500 tons superpave asphalt concrete pavement, type 2 pavement; lump sum materials transfer vehicle; 215 tons prime coat grade CSS-1, CSS-1H, SS-1 or SS-1H; 3,000 hours flagger; 1,500 hours pilot car; heavy equipment operators; along with associated seeding, mulching, signing, pavement markings, signal lighting and traffic control. Option X: surveying and staking; contractor testing; silt fence; removal of structures/obstructions; placed riprap; road reconditioning; asphalt cement; superpave asphalt concrete pavement; prime coat; pipe culvert; concrete curb and gutter; additional traffic control. Tentative Advertisement: January 15, 2006 Time for Completion: September 1, 2006 (September 30, 2006 if Option X is exercised)
