Description

The Federal Bureau of Investigation intends to negotiate a one-time, sole-source, firm-fixed price Soft Guard rate increase change contract with Pitney Bowes, Inc., Chesapeake, VA, under Request for Quote (RFQ) Number 0214132. Pitney Bowes, Inc., is to provide the FBI with United States Postal Service rate increase changes on 8 each DM-1000 Mailing Machines (SPWT); and, 62 each DM-500 Mailing Machines (SPY1); 130 each DM-200 Mailing Machines (SBBJ). These mailing machines are located throughout the CONUS, Hawaii, Alaska, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Market research has determined that the FBI?s requirement can only be provided by Pitney Bowes, Inc., because they are the only known vendor that can disengage the postage meters when upgrades/parts are needed. However, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals to this office by 2:00PM, EST, December 19, 2005, via facsimile to the attention of Ms. Theresa M. Powell, Contracting Officer, at 703.632.1607. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification number is 423420; the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 12. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
