- The U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command Acquisition Center intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract with 454 Life Sciences Corporation, 20 Commercial Street, Branford, CT 06405-2801 for purchase of a Defense Threat Re duction Agency (DTRA)-funded DNA Sequencer and its required supplies on behalf of the Naval Medical Research Center, Silver Spring, MD. The contractor has proprietary rights to the equipment, which is used to sequence bacterial genomes. Interested perso ns or companies may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. However, all responses received will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether it is appropriate to conduct a competitiv e procurement.
