Description
The Medical Readiness Branch of the Florida National Guard Headquarters, Office of the State Surgeon, requires a qualified Physicians Assistant to provide Military Medical Services and to serve as a Medical Advisory/Healthcare Provider. Place of Performance: Camp Blanding Joint Training Site, Starke, FL. The Physicians Assistant must be NCCPA certified, have a current Florida Physicians Assistant license, and hav e malpractice insurance. The Physicians Assistant must possess civilian and military experience and provide proof of quality of work (i.e. no malpractice suits). Private practice and hospital experience is preferred. The Physicians Assistant must be familiar with Army Regulation 40-501 and Army Regulation (AR) 40-68. The Physicians Assistant will serve as an active member of the State Surgeons Medical Duty Review Board (SSMDRB) and attend Board meetings as required by the State Surgeon (SS). The Physicians Assistant will ensure all recommendations made by the Board are in compliance with Army regulations. Physicians Assistant will serve as the initial screener and reviewer for all medical cases presented biweekly to the SSMDRB. Physicians Assistant assigns temporary profiles without needing to consult with the State Surgeon . Physicians Assistant will o rally discuss cases with the SS while determining permanent profiles and will examine, assess, and classify Soldiers for medical fitness for duty for Officer Candidate School, Counter Drug tours, deployment overseas, and retention. Physicians Assistant must assess Soldiers for health risks such as cardiovascular fitness. Refers Soldiers to higher level review boards when necessary. Must have knowledge of and use DD 2808 (Report of Medical Exam), DD2708-1 (Report of Medical History), DA 3349 (Physical Profile), and SF600 (Report of medical care) to record the boards results. The Physicians Assistant will be paid hourly no more than eight hours a day unless approved by the State Surgeon. The Physicians Assistant will be given at least thirty days notice when needed for duty. The resulting contract shall be a firm fixed price contract for a one year period.
