Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Boulder City, Nevada, intends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to Desert Specialty Rigging Supply, 5800 S. Valley View Blvd #107, Las Vegas, NV, 89118-8313, This purchase order is for the design and installation of a fall protection system that will allow safe access to and the prevention of falls at the penstock lateral flow meters located on the outside of each of the fourteen penstock laterals at Hoover Dam. This fall protection system must allow for access to all flow meter probes. This equipment needs to be compatible with personal fall arrest systems already in use at Hoover Dam and installed in the A1, 2 Laterals so that interchangeability with other systems is maintained. The interchangeability of these systems is most paramount when trying to train employees in the safe use of the systems. The systems already installed by this Contractor have been designed to be compatible with one another. Any deviation from these designs will result in substantial costs to make systems compatible with presently installed equipment and training. Properly trained and competent employees are required when using fall protection systems to perform maintenance and emergency activities. This procurement will be awarded using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is on or about December 13, 2005.
