Description

This is a pre-solicitation notice for Solicitation W52P1J-05-R-0046. Estimated issue date is 14 December 2005 and estimated closing date is 18 January 2006. Item: the refurbishment and manufacture of PA125 metal containers used for packaging 25mm training ammunition, NSN: 8140-01-347-8121, Part Number:1 2576143. The PA125 container is a metal, rectangular container with an overall length of 14.340 inches, an overall width of 5.700 inches, and an overall height of 13.870 inches. Along with the container, the contractor will provide refurbished and/or new internal container components with each refurbished or new container, including: rubber gasket, filler pads, plastic restraining plate, and plastic separator assembly. Refurbishment: The contractor will be responsible for retrieving and storing field-ret urned PA125 metal containers from approximately 20 posts, camps and stations located throughout the United States. The contractor shall inspect the field-returned PA125 metal containers and internal components to determine the degree of rework required fo r reuse and refurbishment. Manufacture: Should the number of refurbished containers not meet the Governments requirements for PA125 containers, the contractor will be responsible for manufacturing new containers. A CD is available from the contract spec ialist which contains the complete PA125 Tech Data Package (TDP) including all of the internal components. This RFP is being issued as a 100% small business set aside and will result in a five-year, firm-fixed-price contract. Because the exact number of c ontainers needed over the next five years is not known, the Government will be awarding a Requirements contract. A First Article Test will be required.
