- Competitive Acquisition Program Vendor Bidding December 1, 2005 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) via Conference Call Only The participating audience for this Open Door Forum is limited to entities that are interested in bidding to be a Competitive Acquisition Program (CAP) vendor. (Part B Drugs Only) The purpose of this Open Door Forum is to provide an opportunity for these potential vendors to ask questions about the bidding process and the policies contained in the final rule related to the role of the CAP vendor. Bidding rules prohibit CMS from communicating with potential vendors on an individual basis. Please note that we intend to limit the discussion to issues that are directly related to the CAP vendor bidding process and we intend to only answer questions from entities that are potential bidders. The vendor application period began on November 21, 2005. Applications will be accepted through 5:00 PM on Thursday, December 22, 2005. Additional information about the CAP, including the application forms and final rule, can be found at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/providers/drugs/compbid/ . CMS staff will be available during future appropriate Open Door Forums to discuss other parts of the CAP, such as the physician election process and other operational issues in the CAP rules.
