Description

Lock 9 Slot Installation work includes all plant, labor, materials, and equipment to construct new Bulkhead recesses at Lock 9 near Prairie du Chen, Wisconsin. The new bulkhead recesses, with bulkheads fabricated under a separate contract, will repl ace the current Poiree Dam dewatering system for the Locks. Principle work items include, but are not limited to demolition, recess fabrication and installation (including covers), concrete work, reinforcement, dewatering, and removal and reinstallation o f lock wall appurtenances. In addition the downstream recesses will required the removal of the existing anchor bars and anchorages, fabrication of new anchor bars and anchorages, temporary support and protection of the miter gates, miter gate adjustment, and minor electrical alterations. Lead paint and/or primers exist on painted surfaces and asbestos may be present in some of the electrical casings. Approximately one-third of the work will be completed between the Notice to Proceed Date and the end of the navigation season, currently scheduled for early December, 2006. The remainder of the work is to be completed between December 4, 2006 and February 28, 2007. THIS PROCUREMENT IS ISSUED UNRESTRICTED UNDER THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVE DEMONSTRATION P ROGRAM (PUBLIC LAW 100-656). North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 with a size standard of $28.5 million average annual gross revenues. The estimated magnitude of this requirement in terms of physical characteristics and es timated price is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
