- Description
- The Health Communications Specialist (HCS) will collaborate with the U.S. Embassy, USAID, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Peace Corps, and the Defense Attache’ Office, collectively referred to as the U.S. Mission, to create awareness of the American assistance being provided to Zambia through the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (Emergency Plan). The HCS will be responsible for: producing and disseminating information about the U.S. Mission’s activities to the host country government and the public; reviewing and writing about the best practices and success stories in the provision of HIV/AIDS relief by USG partners; preparing reports for OGAC, the U.S. Congress, USAID, and other constituencies; writing materials for various websites including the U.S. Embassy, OGAC, and USAID; participating in major international HIV/AIDS conferences, planning special events; and producing public affairs materials, including speeches, press releases, and fact sheets. The HCS will develop and help produce materials that will enhance public awareness and build support for the U.S. Mission’s programs, particularly its successes and achievements.
