Description
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis Only. Requests for copies of solicitations will not receive a response. The Joint Product Manager for Biological Detection Systems is conducting market research to determine which potential bidders would have the ca pability to supply a High Frequency Radio for the M31E2 JBPDS/BIDS System. Only those companies which have the capability to provide the same or equal product need send in information. No other specifications or information other that what is outlined be low is available. The components of the radio are a local control unit (LCU), remote control unit (RCU) with battery box, handset, interconnect cable from LCU to radio and an instruction card and instruction manual. The specifications following represen t the minimum requirements of the government. 1) GENERAL: Minimum Frequency Range: 1.6 to 29.999 Mhz; Mode of Operation: J3E (single sideband, upper or lower, suppressed carrier telephony), H3E (compatible AM single sideband plus full carrier telephony, J 2A MCW (single sideband suppressed carrier keyed tone), Net Presets: 50, minimum, fully programmable, Power Input: 24-26VDC and 115-120VAC, Finish CARC (Chemical Agent Resistant Coating) Green. 2) SIZE: RCU-8W x 3.25H x 9D inches maximum, 4 lb maximum; LC U-3.5W x 3.5H x 3.5D inches maximum, 2 lb maximum; Equipment rack (holding RT, power supplies, power amp, etc) 17.5W x 24H x18D inches maximum. 170 lb maximum, mounting hole location on base of 15D x 16.625W inches; Antenna coupler (when mounted to vertica l surface)11W x 15H x 7.5D inches maximum, 30 lb maximum, mounting hole location on back of 7.25W x 15H inches. 3) REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS: transmit and receive audio; all radios functions (ALE, ECCM, Data); Asynchronous and Synchronous Data Interface; Or der-Wire; Volume Control, Visual Indication-of link status, order-wire and battery status with lights-out function. 4)RECEIVER: Sensitivity-SSB: 113 dBm (0.5uV) minimum for 10dB SINAD, Audio Output-15mW at 1000ohm to external handset, Squelch-front panel a djustable, active squelch selectable, Image and IF Rejection-greater than 80dB, Intermodulation Distortion-80dB or better for two-30 dBm signals separated 110kHz or more, Receiver Protection-Receiver protected to 32 VRMS. 5) TRANSMITTER: Power Output-40 0 watts PEP/average into 50 ohms, Audio Input-1.5mV at 150 ohm or 0 dBm at 600 ohm for full rated output, Intermodulation Distortion-30 dB below PEP, Harmonic Output-40 dB. 6) POWER SUPPLY: RCU-26 VDC (nominal)-from single BA-5590, BB-390 or BB-590 batt ery, LCU-Powered from attached radio. 7) ENVIRONMENTAL: Operating Temperature Range-Mil Std-810E 501.3 II, 502.1 II (-40degrees C to +70degrees C), Shock-Mil Std-810E: Method 516.4 Procedure 1 (functional shock 20G, 11ms sawtooth) for ground mobile equipm ent, Procedure VI (bench handling shock) for equipment experiencing bench-type maintenance, Vibration-Mil Std-810E: Method 514.4, Procedure 1, category 8 (random vibration) for ground mobile equipment, Leakage-Mil Std 810E: Method 514. Procedure 1 (basic l eakage-immersion), Humidity-Mil Std-810E: Method 507.3 Procedures 1 , Cycle 5, Operating Temperature-minus 40 degreesC to +70 degrees C, Temperature-Mil Std-810E: Method 501.3 Procedures I and II (storage and operation at +70 degreesC), Method 502.3 Proce dures 1 and II. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. All sources that are able to provide this equipment (or equal) should submit their interest in writing to the Contract Specialist.
