Description

The National Institute on Aging, IRP, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis with Peptide, 245 University Circle, Athens, Georgia, 30605-3721 for the production of two labeled peptide 15n, 13c including sub cloning, optimized synthesis in bacteria and purification. Peptide is the only know source which can provide all the services needed to produce the peptides; this sole source determination was made based on results from a market survey to other companies who produce peptides but could not provide all the services required. Peptide is the only known company that offers the entire package of services ? i.e., (1) sub cloning, (2) optimized synthesis in bacteria and purification. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code is 325414 and the size standard is 500 employees. This acquisition is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition procedures and is exempt from the requirement of Far Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government.
