Description

USAID/Armenia intends to competitively award a contract for the Financial Sector Deepening Project in Armenia. The purpose of the project is to extend ongoing financial sector reforms, improve the efficiency and viability of the banking sector, promote development of the insurance industry, and help promote a sound, safe and stable financial sector. The goal is to increase financial sector intermediation and enhance the sector?s capacity to provide financing to the private sector, and thus ultimately to help create and sustain more jobs. Specifically, the Financial Sector Deepening Project will focus on assisting the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia (CBA) in implementation of the risk-based supervision, improving corporate governance practices in commercial banks, developing the mortgage and insurance markets, and enhancing banks and insurance companies ability to offer more products and services. Subject to the availability of funds, the project is expected to comprise of a three year base period with two one year options.
