Description
JOLIET JOB CORPS CENTER SCOPE OF WORK HOOD FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM UPGRADE The hood fire suppression system is not interlocked with the gas supply line for automatic shut-off of gas to all appliances under the hoods. Upgrade the hood fire suppression system for automatic shut down of the natural gas supply to the cooking appliances under the hood. 1. The contractor shall provide and install an automatic gas shut-off valve (with manual reset) in the gas supply line serving the appliances under the hoods. (Two 2-inch automatic gas shut off valves, one in main kitchen and one in the culinary arts kitchen.) The one in the main kitchen already exists, but needs to be wired to the suppression system. 2. The contractor shall verify location and extent of work required to accomplish the upgrade. 3. Construction debris must be removed from the site, and the construction area must be secured to the Center?s satisfaction at the end of each day. 4. The contractor will coordinate with the Center Director and the Finance and Administration Director to ensure student training and kitchen operations are not disrupted during the construction process. 5. All work must meet the latest edition of Building Codes. 6. The contractor shall at all times abide by the Center?s rules and regulations. 7. The contractor will comply, as applicable, with the provisions of the Davis-Bacon Act, the Copeland Act, and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. 8. All materials, services and labor shall be warranted free for a period of one year. 9. The contractor shall test and demonstrate the proper functioning of the system to the Center?s satisfaction. 10. The contractor will provide and maintain competent and adequate supervision at the construction site to ensure that the complete work conforms with the approved plans and specifications and will furnish progress reports and such other information as may be required by the Center. 11. The contractor will initiate and complete the work within the applicable time frame after receipt of approval of the Center. 12. The contractor will comply with all Federal statutes relating to non-discrimination. 13. The contractor will prepare and submit a complete set of plans for the installation of the upgrade for Center review and approval. 14.
