- The Social Security Administration requires contractor provided services for the preparation and painting of walls, doors, doorframes, ceilings and other incidentals in designated areas of the lower level, mechanical room penthouses (roof), 1st and 2nd floors of the Harold Washington Social Security Center (HWSSC), 600 W. Madison St., in Chicago, IL. A site visit is scheduled for Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at the HWSSC. Offerors planning to attend the site visit must register before June 25, 2001, by calling Ronald Camacho at 312-575-5519. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment and other necessary painting items to satisfactorily accomplish the required work. The contractor will be required to prepare all designated surfaces prior to painting to insure that the paint will properly adhere to the surface. Surface preparation shall include, but not be limited to: dulling all glossy surfaces by sanding; filling and sanding smooth all cracks, holes, blemishes and damaged corners; and priming all designated and prepared surfaces. The total area to be painted on the lower level, mechanical room penthouses (roof), 1st and 2nd floors is estimated at approximately 44,000 square feet. The contractor will be responsible for verifying all measurements. All work under this contract shall be accomplished Monday through Friday during the hours of 6:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., unless otherwise directed by the Project Officer. All work under this contract shall be completed within 90 calendar days after commencement. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside.
