Description

The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals for the development, management and operation of its food services facility located within the Smithsonian Museum Support Center in Suitland, Maryland. The Scope of Work includes but is not limited to: providing high quality, competitively priced, innovative food and beverages to patrons of the food services facility in an efficient and courteous manner. The Museum Support Center is located at 4210 Silver Hill Road, Suitland, MD 20746. The food services facility has been recently renovated. All firms interested in submitting a proposal in response to this Solicitation Number R06-1105 need copies of the solicitation documents. The Solicitation documents will be available upon written request, on or about the week of November 21, 2005, from the Smithsonian Institution, Office of Contracting, PO Box 37012, 750 9th Street, NW, Suite 6200, Washington DC 20013-7012, Attn: Jennifer L. Jones. Request for solicitation documents should be written on company letterhead and have complete address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and the name of a company representative (written requests for solicitation documents may be delivered to the above address or by facsimile transmission to 202-275-0264 Attn: Jennifer L. Jones). The date, time and location for submission of proposals will be included in the solicitation documents. The solicitation will be available for release to firms on or about the week of November 21, 2005. All firms who respond to the solicitation will be required to submit a proposal for evaluation. Proposals will be evaluated using the following weighted factors as described in the solicitation: 1) Restaurant and Menu Concepts, 2) Implementation and Operating Plans, 3) Pro Forma Statement, 4) Contractor Resources and 5) Comments. Proposals will be privately opened. The Smithsonian will require a Concession?s Agreement which provides for a minimum concessions fee of at least fifteen percent (15%). Dining facilities shall not be subsidized by the Smithsonian.
