- Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking sources in the field of Sedimentation and River Hydraulics that have expertise with the GSTARS, Generalized Stream Tube model for Alluvial River Simulation, computer model. Th e intent of this announcement is to identify and locate any sources unknown to our agency at this time that have the expertise to modify a GSTARS model to study river and reservoir sediment management issues for a multi-purpose project site on the Missouri River around the border of Nebraska and South Dakota. The modification study would be used to determine environmentally and economically sustainable sediment management plans that will increase habitat availability within and downstream of the site while maintaining existing project benefits. This type of study effort requires that the modeler(s) posses an in depth knowledge of the GSTARS model with the ability to make extensive code changes, an in depth knowledge of sediment transport processes in gener al, a high level of understanding of the Missouri River sediment characteristics and the logistical resources to process and analyze large amounts of data.
