Description
Project includes constructing five group area campsites in the Diamond Fork Canyon on the Spanish Fork Ranger District of the Uinta National Forest. Work will include clearing and grubbing; project site preparation and grading; construction of parking areas and access roads with striping and gates, paths, trails, and potable water distribution system; furnish and installation of picnic shelters, associated site furnishings, bulletin boards, sewage holding tank, barrier rocks; unit markers, concrete curb stops, barb wire fence, post and rail fence, traffic control signs, and culverts. Clearing and grubbing will include removal and disposal of brush and salvage trees. Constructed areas include five parking areas of varying size and three access roads with crushed aggregate base course and asphalt surface course. Furnish and install eight gates and three cattleguards. Construct approximately 2260 linear feet of gravel service road and 2562 linear feet of 4-foot wide gravel path. Construction of picnic areas includes five individual picnic shelters with crushed aggregate base course with concrete pads, 57 picnic tables, 10 serving tables, 12 utility tables, 11 group grills, 9 dutch oven fire pans and 6 group concrete fire circles. Construct 4900 linear feet of barb wire fence and 250 linear feet of post and rail fence. Barrier rock work includes furnishing and placing approximately 75 barrier rocks from a commercial source. Sewage holding tank work includes placement of a 2000-gallon sewage holding tank with trailer service hookup. Signage includes furnish and install one entry sign and five bulletin boards. Traffic control signs include all incidental construction signing and furnishing and placing 13 permanent traffic control signs. Construction of a potable water distribution system includes installation from the outlet of the storage tank (part of option #1 or #2) to hydrants located in the group areas. Work will include installing approximately 9600 feet of waterline including valves and drains, 107 feet of pipe sleeves and 11 potable water hydrants. Optional work that may be awarded includes all work described above associated with: Option #1: Develop Spring and Water System to Tank Outlet Option #2: Drill Well, Solar Powered Pump and Water System to Tank Outlet Option #3: Monks Hollow Picnic Site Option #4: Barb Wire Range Fence Quantities associated with these options are identified by site in the Schedule of Items. This project is advertised as unrestricted under NAIC code 237990. Solicitation is expected to be uploaded on November 18, 2005. Show-me trip is scheduled for: November 18, 2005. Meet at Monk Hollow trailhead off Diamond Fork road at 1:00 pm.
