Description
The Simulator Systems Group (SMSG) in Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright- Patterson AFB, OH will be competing the follow-on F-16 Mission Training Center (MTC) contract with service to start in 2008. We are formulating our acquisition strategy and this announcement is intended to notify industry of information regarding the F-16 MTC requirement. We anticipate releasing the Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) for industry comment in August 2005 and a final RFP in October 2005. We expect contract award the following spring. If you have any questions or comments, please contact the POC for this announcement at ASC.YW.F16SSPOC@wpafb.af.mil. Interested offerors are invited to register on the PIXS site for the acquisition. To assist the SMSG in development of the acquisition strategy, we request the interested offerors submit responses to specific questions posted on the F-16 MTC Follow-on PIXS site. In addition, all interested offerors are invited to meet with us for one hour on 6 July 2005 to discuss their qualifications and program requirements. This site can be reached by typing the following into your URL bar: http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil ************************************************************************ Question to Industry: Do you see any impact to awarding a non-commercial (i.e., FAR Part 15) services contract instead of a commercial (FAR Part 12) service contract for the F-16 MTC contract? Would the use of a FAR 15 contract be a substantial cost driver either for the initial award or possible contract changes after contract award? Please provide all input by 3 October 2005. ************************************************************************ We are now projecting the release of the DRFP toward the end of November with an industry day about two weeks after DRFP release. If you have any questions, please let us know.
