Description

This procurement requires the contractor to improve and upgrade the HECT (High Energy Computed Tomography) system for the TRIDENT program. This system examines the internal, mechanical integrity of large, highly energetic solid propellent-filled first, second and third stage rocket motors used in the TRIDENT II (D5) missile. The contractor shall perform the following tasks: (1) replace the digital subsystems, (2) replace the detector package, and (3) replace designated motors and motor controllers. This effort will be negotiated with Skiametrics, Inc., of Winchester, MA, the only known contractor with the technical background and expertise, trained personnel, and the in-house logistics and test capabilities which are required to perform this effort.
