Description

The Scope of Work involves the design, fabrication, and installation of two new service sluice gates and the inspection and repair of all existing embedded metals utilized as sealing surfaces. Each sluice gate shall contain a single, hydraulically o perated, 38 inch jet flow gate valve. Wire rope hoists located at the top of the intake structure of the dam currently raise and lower the gates to provide supplementary releases. Each jet flow gate valve shall deliver 600 CFS when fully open under the nor mal pool elevation of Lake Lanier (EL. 1064). The new service sluice gates themselves will no longer be raised or lowered to provide supplementary releases -- the jet flow gate valve in each gate shall be used to provide regulation of the supplementary re leases while the new service sluice gates remain in place. The sluice gates shall fit in the existing structure. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The NAICS Code is 332312 with a size standard of 500 employees. The acquisition is unrestricted. Th e solicitation will not be provided in a printed paper format, however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. Therefore, Offerors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet and download the solicitation/specifications at the following Internet site: http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/ct. No telephone, faxed or mailed request will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the in formation on the mailing list. Therefore, Offerors who hav e registered are required to review the Internet daily for any posted changes to the solicitation. The Request for Proposal will be available for download on 18 November 2005 with a closing date on or about 5 January 2005. All responsible sources may sub mit an offer that will be considered.
