Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for the Construction of a new Border Patrol Station on the northern Maine border in Van Buren, Maine. The new Border Patrol Station is required to accommoda te future staff increases and is intended to replace the existing border patrol station. It will be located at the former Drive-In Theater site in Van Buren on Route 1A. Construction for this project will begin during the late spring of 2006 and will con tinue throughout the winter of 2006/2007. Construction completion is schedule for the summer of 2007 at which time occupancy by the Border Patrol is required. The remote location of this proposed Border Patrol Station, the extreme winter weather conditio ns associated with the northern Maine climate, and the expedited occupancy requirement and construction completion requirements are of the utmost concern that must be accounted for by prospective contractors. As stated, work will be required during the wi nter of 2006/2007 in order to meet this schedule. The Army Corps of Engineers will be performing constuction management services for this contract. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 236220, with a Size Standard of $28.5 million. This solicitation i s issued on an unrestricted basis. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about 18 November 2005. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.nae.usace.army.mil as well as the media by which the solicitation will be made available. Amendments, if any, to this solicitation will be made available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by the New England District.
