- The National Park Service intends to issue a Prospectus for the operation of The House That Jack Built - A Craft Shop located in the Stehekin area of Lake Chelan National Recreation Area within North Cascades National Park Service Complex. This business opportunity includes one historic, government-owned assigned facility within the park. Any Offeror that is selected as the new Concessioner will need to negotiate directly with the local producers of the Craft Shop's inventory. The existing Concession Contract between the National Park Service and the existing Concessioner expires on December 31, 2005. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing Concessioner is a preferred Offeror for this Contract because the first year sales are projected to be less than $500,000. One Contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new Contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing Concessioner, must be received by Concession Program Management, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than seventy-one (71) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a Concession Contract. The Prospectus will be issued October 31, 2005, for a 71-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on January 10, 2006, no later than 4:00 p.m, Pacific Time. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
