Description
Charge, Demolition Sheet Rolls (1375-M060, 1375-M980 and 1375-M981) are rolls of flexible explosive, olive drab in color. The table below lists characteristics for each DODIC. The exact explosive contained in this charge may vary from PETN to RDX t o other qualifying explosives. The flexible explosive used on Charge, Demolition Sheet Roll is a Qualified Products List (QPL) item. QPL-46676-13 contains a listing of contractors qualified to provide explosive rolls for the military. Contractors listed on the QPL are: Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co., BAE Systems RO Defense, and General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. Specification MIL-E-46676 contains complete requirements for testing and qualifying flexible explosive for the QPL. All qualification expenses are the responsibility of the potential offeror. The flexible explosive used in explosive rolls is completely waterproof so it can be used in underwater demolition without the addition of protective coatings. Item: M980, NSN 1375-01-036-0443, width of sheet 10 inches, thickness of sheet 0.083 inches, 38 feet per roll, explosive weight per roll 20 pounds, explosive weight per package 40 pounds, packaging drawing 3139754. Item: M981, NSN 1375-01-036-0444, width of sheet 10 inches, thickness of sheet 0.125 inches, 25 feet per roll, explosive weight per roll 20 pounds, explosive weight per package 40 pounds, packaging drawing 3139754. Interested companies should respond by providing the Government the following information: a brief summary of the companys capabilities (a description of facilities, business size information as it applies to NAICS code 325920, personnel, and past manufa cturing experience as it relates to the above criteria) and availability, i.e., estimated minimum and maximum monthly production quantities. A respondent to this survey should be able to show adequate technical and manufacturing capability and good past p erformance in the explosives processing industry. A respondent to this market survey must have available a majority of the skills and facilities that are required to manufacture these items. If a respondent does not have adequate resources (technical, ma nufacturing, personnel, etc.) available, the respondent, must be able to demonstrate his ability to obtain those resources in a timely fashion. If a respondent chooses to utilize the services of subtier vendors or subcontractors, those vendors or subcontr actors must also meet these criteria. All contractors interested in this future solicitation must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database. Interested parties have 30 calendar days from the date of this publication to submit information to be considered in the development of the acquisition strategy for this item.
