- Annual requirement for industrial laundry and repair services in support of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, Bremerton, WA. For a base year period of performance from 1 Jan 2006 through 31 Dec 2007, with the possibility of four, one-year option periods. Offeror must have the ability to safely process items that are contaminated with lead, cadmium, asbestos, and inorganic arsenic. Items to be laundered include, but are not limited to, leather welder's gloves, hoods, jackets, and overalls; rubber boots, gloves, and overshoes; rubberized coats and pants; wool/cotton drawers, shirts, and socks; cotton and cotton/poly coveralls; canvas parkas; fall protection equipment, safety harnesses, and lanyards' plastic armsleeves; and cotton fabric drop cloths. Estimated quantities range from 25 per year for harnesses and fall protection equipment items, to 30,000 per year for cotton and cotton/poly coveralls. Additional services include repairing seams, holes, tears, hems, velcro, zippers and fasteners. Detailed estimates of items and quantities will be included in the solicitation package. Offeror must pickup and delivery laundry onsite at various buildings within Puget Sound Naval Shipyard at least twice weekly. This is an unrestricted solicitation. NAICS 812332 will apply for this requirement and the Federal Supply Class (FSC) is S209. The anticipated award will be a Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued for this requirement on or about 19 November 2005 with a due date of 18 December 2005 (1600 hours, Pacific Standard Time). Only responsible offers will be considered by the Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound. Telephone requests will not be honored. This solicitation and any subsequent amendments will be posted to the NECO website: http://www.neco.navy.mil. Prospective offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation from this website and for frequently monitoring that site for any amendments. The Government is not responsible for any inability of the offeror to access the posted documents. No telephone or FAX requests will be accepted, and no hard-copy solicitation/amendment will be mailed or faxed. Electronic submission of proposals/quotes is not available at this time.
