Description
This announcement is a Sources Sought for informational and planning purposes only. This Sources Sought is neither a Request for Proposals nor a solicitation of offers. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized. It is the potential offeror?s responsibility to monitor this website for release of any solicitation or synopsis. Failure to respond to this Sources Sought synopsis does not mean that a firm cannot respond to a solicitation at a later date. The intent of this Sources Sought is to assist Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) in conducting market research of existing product lines or product lines about to enter the market. NAVAIR has a requirement for a crash survivable Engine Monitoring System (EMS) capable of recording MILSTD 1553 messages and other discrete parameters from AV-8B attack aircraft throughout its established flight envelope. Candidate systems should give consideration toward utilization of current state of the art vibration monitoring and oil analysis technologies. System must be capable of continuously recording video and 1553 message sets for a period of at least three hours. Downloading of recorded data must be able to be accomplished by enlisted flight line personnel. Interested sources shall provide a letter of interest, including a one to two page overview statement addressing the following: 1) Brief statement of interest/proposed product line description/capabilities; 2) Any other information at vendor discretion such as catalogs, drawings/illustrations, technical manuals, training description/material, pricing, testing documentation, brochures and/or any other documentation that describes the capabilities, interfaces, and specifications; 3) Identification of any Government and/or commercial customers who have previously procured EMS hardware, including customer point of contact information (including a telephone number, e-mail address or web site). Responses may be submitted either electronically or via mail to the addresses provided below. Responses are requested by 30 November 2005; however, the earliest possible response is encouraged. Responses will be reviewed and additional information may be requested from individual sources if desired by the Government. Otherwise, respondents will not be contacted regarding their submission, information gathered as a result of this notice, or the outcome of the Government?s review of the solicited information. This Sources Sought synopsis does not constitute a commitment from the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. All information submitted is at the offeror?s own expense. The Government will not assume liability for costs incurred by any respondent for any data offered in response to this Sources Sought. The Government reserves the right to review and use the data submitted at its own discretion. Upon request, the Government will protect proprietary information from unwanted disclosure. Any such requests shall be submitted in the letter of interest.
