- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYCOM) intends to contract for modifications to the existing Helmet Mounted Sight Display (HMSD) with Thales Avionics, 25 Rue Jules Vedrines, Valence, France. The contractor will be required evaluate and correct deficiencies for incorporation into the production of helmets for the H-1 Upgrades Program. The requirement will be accomplished in three phases. The first phase requires the contractor to evaluate deficiencies and provide a solution that retains the current production aircraft insalled hardware and not require any mission computer software change. The change will maximize the reuse of existing helmet hardware not permanently installed in the aircraft including the basic helmet and tracker system, and address the current deficiencies attributed to the existing HMSD. The evaluation will result in a Statement of Work (SOW), and specification to modify the existing HMSD system. The second phase will include the manufacture of the prototype changes within the existing aircraft performance specification, and the verification test of the new and modified equipment. The final phase is the manufacture and integration of the equipment into the Lot II HMDS production contract and delivery of the supporting logistic data. See Note No. 22.
