Description
The USDA, Animal Plant Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), Fort Collins, Colorado, intends to procure 250 tons of grass alfalfa mix. Submit faxed quotations to Purchasing Section, at (612) 370 2136, Attention Joanne Mann. QUOTATIONS ARE DUE OCTOBER 27, 2005, BY 10:00 a.m. local time. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12. A firm fixed price purchase order will be awarded. NAICS Code: 111998. THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. SPECIFICATIONS: Quantity of 250 tons of baled grass/alfalfa mix, second cutting. Ratio of grass to alfalfa shall be: grass 30-50%; alfalfa 50-70%. BALE SIZE: 4 foot x 4 foot x 8 foot blocks or large round bales. Hay shall have a good odor and shall not be under-cured, heating hot, wet, dusty, moldy, caked, badly broken, badly weathered, or otherwise of distinct low quality. The baled hay shall be free of injurious foreign material, such as but not limited to, hardware, such as wire, nails, and other materials considered harmful to livestock. DELIVERIES shall be made between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The USDA has sufficient space to receive the entire shipment; therefore the entire order may be delivered in its entirety. The USDA will unload the delivered bales. Deliveries shall be made to: 4101 LaPorte Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado. INSPECTION: Shall take place at the time of delivery at the consignee?s premises. Deliveries that are deemed not to be in compliance with the specifications are to be removed within five (5) calendar days. Replacement hay shall be delivered at the time the rejected hay is removed.
