- The Department of Veteran Affairs Facilities, VAMC Birmingham, AL, is soliciting bids for a twenty-four (24) hour ambulance service (Basic Life Support and Advance Life Support) and stretcher transportation services for the beneficiaries of the Birmingham AL Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This may include urgent or emergency requirement as well as a non-emergency requirement. Period of performance is January 1, 2006, through September 30, 2006 with two (2) one year options. Contract type is Firm fixed price under full and open competition procedures. NAICS Code for this procurement is 485991 with a small business size standard of $6.0 million. This procurement is set aside for small business. The solicitation will be issued October 31, 2006.
