- Description
- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Process Measurements Division, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under authority of FAR 13.106(b)(1), with BNC Corporation of San Rafael, CA for a Universal Pulse Generator (Model 6040) & 150 Picosecond Rise Time Module (Model 201E). Sole source determination is based on the need to provide the US Army Primary Standards Laboratory with a calibrated, 70 GHz bandwith, waveform acquisition system identical to the one owned by NIST and another owned by Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory. BNC Corporation is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the Universal Pulse Generator (Model 6040) & 150 picosecond Rise Time Module (Model 201E). No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by October 26, 2005, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
